Taking a boat trip with your beloved pet can be an exciting adventure. Whether you are going on a short jaunt or planning to sail around the world, there are some important things to consider beforehand. Here are a few tips on how to go on a boat trip when you have a pet:

1. Talk to your boat rental provider:

Before you book a boat rental, make sure that your pet is allowed on the watercraft. Some companies may not allow pets to be brought onto the vessel, while others may require special arrangements to be made. Sydney Harbour Escapes boat rentals, for example, allows small pets on board with prior notice.

2. Prepare your pet:

If you are taking a longer trip with your pet, it’s important to make sure that your pet can handle the environment. If your pet isn’t used to being on a boat, you should introduce them to it in a gradual manner. This will ensure that they are used to the movement and sound of the boat before embarking on a long journey.

3. Get them ready for the voyage:

Before you set sail, make sure your pet is well-prepared for the voyage. This includes getting them microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and outfitted with a pet life jacket. A proper fitting life jacket is essential for keeping your pet safe if they fall overboard.

4. Dog Daycare:

If you are planning an extended boat trip, it’s a good idea to find a pet-friendly doggy daycare centre in the area. This will give your pet a safe and comfortable place to stay while you are away.

Taking a boat trip with your pet can be both fun and safe if you are well-prepared. Make sure to talk to your rental provider, prepare your pet, get them ready for the voyage, and investigate doggy daycare. With these tips, you can have a wonderful boat trip with your pet.
