The very first picture of Imelda Staunton representing the Queen in the 5th series of The Crown has actually been launched.

Netflix launched the picture through their Twitter account, stating it was an “early peek” of the brand-new king in the royal drama.

Staunton, 65, handles the function played by Claire Foy and Olivia Colman, as the current series follows the royal household in the 21st century.

Netflix stated the drama’s last and 6th series will end in the early 2000s.

Seasons 5 and 6 of The Crown are set to include the 1990s – a years that saw the Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales split, the collapse of the Duke of York’s marital relationship to Sarah Ferguson, the Windsor Castle fire, and Princess Diana’s death.

taunton, who starred in Vera Drake and the Harry Potter movie series, takes over from Colman, who formerly won the very best starlet award at the Golden Globes for her representation of the queen in series 3.

Oscar-nominated starlet Lesley Manville will sign up with series 5 as Princess Margaret – a function formerly played by Helena Bonham Carter and Vanessa Kirby.

Jonathan Pryce will take control of as the Duke of Edinburgh and Elizabeth Debicki will play Princess Diana, opposite Dominic West as Prince Charles.

Jonny Lee Miller, who rose to popularity as a heroin addict in hit 1996 movie Trainspotting, will represent the previous prime minister Sir John Major.
